stamina and wits. Rugby combines precise passing, strong tackling

The
Team - A Diverse Collection of Success
The Tucson
Magpies are made up of a diverse and talented group of athletes. The
team is comprised of doctors, educational professionals, law
officers, engineers, students and several other occupational areas.
The 'Pies were founded in 1980 and success has followed them ever
since. The Magpies took titles in the Warren Lee Sevens in 1983 and
1984 and the Kachina Sevens in 1984. Playing in the Arizona Rugby
Union, the Magpies have won the league championship in 1989 and tied
in 1988, sharing it with the Tempe Old Devils. The Magpies Also won
the Western Division Michelob Rugby Classic title in 1993. As hard
hitting and aggressive as the Magpies are we also are gentlemen. The
'Pies were recognized for this 3 times by winning the Craig Sweeny
Memorial Trophy, awarded to the club that demonstrates outstanding
sportsmanship, team spirit and pride in the game of
Rugby.

Media - Rugby, An Emerging Trend
The Media
and Rugby Football have always courted each other but a relationship
was never solidified, until now. Major League Rugby and the 1999
Rugby World Cup have ignited a spark that is sure to catch. The
Magpies have been featured on local television stations Tucson
12-City Channel, KVOA-4 NBC, KGUN-9 ABC and KOLD-13 CBS. The 'Pies
have also been covered by The Arizona Daily Star, The Tucson
Citizen, The Tucson Weekly and The Desert
Airman (DMAFB). The Magpies have also recently been featured
on the Tucson Channel 12 in their "Blood & Sweat" segment.
The Tucson Rugby Golf Tournament - Fun on the Linx
Each year the Tucson Magpies host an annual golf tournament. This tournament is a great
opportunity to advertise for your business as well as participate in a fun outing. Each year the tournament has proven to be a great experience
whether you are an experienced golfer or have never picked up a set of clubs before. Each year the tournament takes place around the end of the
summer and will continue to be a Magpies tradition.
