So
you want to play rugby. Here is some general information to get you
started.
When do we play? The magpies practice every Tuesday
and Thursday starting in the early Fall. Games are on Saturdays. The
season starts around January.
What do I need to get started? To begin playing, all
you need is a mouth piece and a pair of cleats. (Any cleats that do
not have a toe cleat will do fine.)
What are we looking for? Any athlete with a desire to
win can make a home with the Tucson Magpies.
Who are we? Rugby players in general are a bunch of
friendly guys ready to welcome new players. We are no
exception.
Is
there a fee? You don't have to worry about any fees to start.
Come out and decide whether or not you enjoy the sport first. If you
want to become a member of the club and play on Saturdays, you will
be asked to pay $150 in dues. This money pays for our fields, union
dues and social activities.
